Counselling and Psychotherapy

In counselling, we build a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard and supported, nourishing a sense of safety and trust. We explore patterns and beliefs to discover the authentic you on a pathway to a life of more connection, fulfillment and growth.

Life can be difficult and overwhelming. It is easy to feel stuck or like you’re going around in circles, anxious, stressed, and sometimes traumatised, leaving you to think you’re not enough or there’s no way out. However, our life expereinces can be a gateway to learn more about who we are and what is possible. They can shut us down, or open us up to new and exciting possibilities.

I use a range of modalities to help you through what life throws at you, whether it’s personal, work, relationships, or just navigating this journey called life. I draw on mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy to facilitate change and empower you with practical tools to grow.

I see psychotherapy as a deeper journey into self. We look into the past, present and future you, the path you are currently travelling, and what blocks you from moving forward towards where you’d truly like to be.

Counselling is available for adults and children. I can provide support for anyone struggling with specific mental health issues, such as stress, anxiety and depression, grief, eating disorders, and PTSD.

Available in-person or online. NDIS clients welcome.

Energy Psychotherapy

Energy psychotherapy is an option, if it resonates with you. This transpersonal approach combines traditional psychotherapy with an awareness of the subtle energy systems in the body called chakras. We explore the possibility that there is more to us than our physical and psychological boundaries, offering another perspective.

You will learn energy techniques and effective visualisations to support a deeper connection with self and letting go of old patterns, welcoming new personal growth.

Energy psychotherapy involves resting (fully clothed with a blanket over you) on a massage table. Therapeutic touch is used, which involves sensing energy through my hands and sending positive energy into the body. It can offer a deeper connection than other therapies alone. This can bring relaxation, warmth, and sometimes pain relief. I share what I am sensing energetically and we explore what we discover together.

Available in-person or online. NDIS clients welcome.

Meditation and Visualisation

Meditation develops and encourages concentration, clarity, positivity and a calm seeing of ‘the true nature of things’. Meditation can create profound inner peace as well as enhance focus, quality of thinking and emotional regulation.

Mindfulness is about learning to pay attention in a specific way. We practice paying attention in the present moment, non-reactively, non-judgmentally and openheartedly. Mindfulness can reduce stress, anxiety, pain and depression and can boost energy, creativity, the quality of relationships and bring an overall sense of wellbeing.

Sound can be a supportive anchor for meditation. Gentle sounds can support grounding and safety. I can use the sounds of nature or other inspiring music, I play Tibetan singing bowls which have been shown to be very effective in bringing a sense of inner peace and connection.

A meditation with visualisation uses the imagination and sound to go on visual journeys. It can be a simple focus on the colours of the rainbow or a walk on the beach. If you find it challenging to sit in silent meditation, this approach can be particularly beneficial.

Available in-person or online.

Sand and Art Therapy

Sand and art therapy can be highly effective in helping to resolve ongoing issues and move towards a sense of balance and wholeness. They can be a part of counselling or psychotherapy if you choose.

In Sand Therapy, you place miniature figurines in a rectangular sand tray to express feelings and experiences. While it sounds simple, this powerful process can allow the unconscious mind to become visible and integrated. It can access pre-verbal experiences of trauma and self-identity as well as giving a voice to trapped areas of emotion and distress.

Sand Therapy offers a safe and protected space where challenges of the inner world are explored and integrated into the psyche for emotional healing. Otherwise known as ‘Sand Play”, it is based on the teachings of C. G. Jung.

Art Therapy is an expressive therapy that can reduce stress, improve self esteem and boost awareness for both adults and children. It can often be a very deep and enlightening experience, helping to release emotions connected to grief and loss, emotional distress and limiting beliefs.

I provide expressive therapy for both children and adults, in individual and group sessions, with specialised support for people with trauma, ADHD and Autism.

Available in-person only. NDIS clients welcome.
